New Website is Launched!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally be launching a new website. It has literally been years in the making. Once upon a time, I knew how to create a website. But as programs advanced and I was not working in them, I found I had fallen way behind. The learning curve was steep and I was too busy creating the next needlework pattern (to keep you all busy stitching) to spend the time updating my skills. So a new website just kept moving to the back burner of my “to-do” list. I think for awhile it not only went to the back burner, but jumped to the other side of the “kitchen!”

The image below is the homepage for my first website that I created back in 2006.

One of my goals for 2019 was to get the job completed. I knew I had to hire the work out, so after I came home from Market in March I started to research a website developer. As I was searching, I thought of one of my daughter’s childhood friends. I knew she was now located in Pittsburgh, PA and websites were her graphic design forte. I reached out to Vanessa of Workoff Studios to see if she would be interested and she was!! Because of both of our schedules, the project has stretched out a bit over the year, but we were both very happy to hit the “live” button today at noon. (What is it about something starting at “High Noon” that is exciting?)

I hope you enjoy poking around the site and maybe even finding an older chart that you are just now discovering. New charts will not be available for purchase here on the site, as I want you to fully support your favorite needlework shop, be it a brick and mortar or online. Check out the “Retailers” link to find shops that carry my patterns.

You will also find a listing of future events I will be attending and classes where I will be teaching at under the “Events” tab. If you are interested in attending a class that is listed, contact the shop or guild that is listed or send me a message to me on the “Contact” page. I can get you in touch with the sponsor of the event you are interested in for more information.

The tutorials page will be filled in as time goes by, so be sure to check back for some ideas for finishing your needlework.

Be sure to sign up for my newsletter before you leave the site, so you receive all the latest Summer House news. And if you don’t already follow me on Facebook and Instagram, there are links to do that as well.

Thank you for your patience with me over the last few years as my site was the dismal “coming soon” page. Thank you to Vanessa for creating such a stunning site. I think it was worth the wait and I hope you do too.

Until next time, happy stitching!
